Its main purpose is to help maintain the size and fit of your hat while it's not being worn. Simply place the Jack inside your hat, level with the sweatband, and twist the internal screw until there is tension on the hat.

Please note: At Brisbane Hatters we don't recommend trying to stretch your hat with a Hat Jack any more than half to one size, or for the occasional tweak. Attempting to stretch more than that with a Jack as opposed to a full-sized stretcher can cause warping and deformation of the crown.
